Shops
There are small general stores in Torridon, Kinlochewe, Shieldaig and Kishorn. More extensive shopping facilities are available in Lochcarron. Gairloch has a good range of shops, providing for most needs. The nearest supermarkets and major chains are to be found in Dingwall and Inverness. Note that the Torridon General Store is at present closed. Work is underway to extend the building in order to provide a café and shop and it is expected that the new premises will open by the end of 2009. A butcher's van visits Torridon on Tuesday. Camping
There is a campsite in Torridon with toilets and showers. There is a campsite in Shieldaig suitable for caravans and tents, with access to public toilets. There are designated camping areas without facilities in Annat and Alligin. |
