Loch Torridon Location

The Loft B&B is ideally sited for access to the unique sea and mountain environment of the west coast of Scotland. Its lochside position affords unrivalled views of both the surrounding mountains and across Loch Torridon.

Alligin is at the heart of the world famous Torridon mountains nestling at the foot of Beinn Alligin - one of several Munros within easy reach.

The Loft is an excellent base for day trips to places such as Lochcarron, Gairloch and Inverewe, Applecross, Plockton, the Kyle of Lochalsh and "across the sea to Skye".

Facilities

The Loft has one twin/double bedded room with its own private entrance. There is an ensuite shower room, tea and coffee making facilities, and a TV with a DVD/CD player. There is ample car parking space.

A selection of cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruit, orange juice, tea, coffee and bread is provided in your room for you to enjoy breakfast at your leisure. The Loft is equipped with a refrigerator and toaster for your convenience.

Underfloor heating will keep you warm during the winter months and on cooler evenings.

Please feel free to occupy your room during the day. We fully understand that with such comfortable accommodation and beautiful views you may not feel the need to go very far!

For those travelling with animals I'm afraid that we have had to take the decision to not allow animals in the building.

Smoking is not permitted inside the building.

Directions Directions
Take a look at the Google map. From Google maps you can get full driving instructions from your selected location. When you reach Torridon drive straight through the village and follow the road for approximately 4 miles until you reach the first turn off to the left (signposted to Inveralligin). Take this turn, drive down the hill and bear round to your left. The Boatyard and Loft are situated a little further along the road just before it bends to the left to follow the shore.
Access
Disabled access
Please note that The Loft is situated on the first floor with access via an external staircase. Whilst many will find this an attraction it may not be convenient for some people with disabilities. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
Prices
Bed and breakfast: £30 per person, per night (£40 per person for single night bookings)
Single occupancy: £40 per night
Note that we can take a maximum of only two people.

Please don't be offended if we don't take a single night booking as such bookings often prevent us from taking people wishing to stay for longer.

"Can we stay forever, please??! Waking up to THAT view every morning has been an absolute treat. We have been spoiled with your hospitality, thank you. Also, special thanks to Pete & Shannon for accompanying us up our first Munro - Beinn Alligin. Hopefully it will be the first of many. Torridon has become a very special place to us both and we hope to be lucky enough to return here in the not so distant future. Many thanks,"
Claire & James (April 2017)
"Top Tip -> Follow the road round to Diabaig, great grub with stunning views. Sticky Toffee Pud at the restaurant is a must!"

"Had such a lovely time here. Waking up to that view every morning has been wonderful. Getting to see all the deer and other wildlife has made the trip extra special. This accommodation has been fantastic, couldn't have asked for anything more. We have been very lucky with the weather too, slightly windy but no rain. Already planning next trip in the summer! Thank you :-)"
Kat & Andy (January 2017)

"Dear Pete & Glyn. Just wanted to say how delighted we were with our lovely home for the week. Weather was a little mixed, but we didn't mind that, knowing we had first class accommodation to stay in for the week. I hope to see you both soon. Hope you had a wonderful holiday too. Best wishes from "
John & Susie (June 2016)

"Had a wonderful stay - with excellent weather as a bonus! Many thanks."
Karen & Dave (October 2015)

"Many thanks for a wonderful stay! Warmth, kindness and hospitality ... unequalled! Looking forward, already, to my next visit. With much love to you both."
Avril (October 2015)

"I am so sorry not to have met the two of you on my first visit to this exquisite part of Scotland. Tony has not exaggerated how cozy and warm what your B&B offers a visitor. The weather was not great but that does not stop us from getting out and about. I hope you both had a great holiday and hope we meet up with you in the future."
Penny.
"After two weeks here I am again reluctant to leave. As always a great stay. Hope to see you again when time permits."
Tony (July 2015)

"What a blessing it has been to stay in such a lovely place - building and views. Although there was much wind and rain to contend with this made for an ever changing scenery that was always stunning and often overwhelming. Sgorr a Chadail was our challenge for the week in driving rain but again worth every ounce of energy for the views from the top.
Thank you Glyn and Peter for your warm welcome and hospitality - your provisions made it a real home from home. It would be nice to think we could return at some point. Every blessing,"

"Our son and daughter-in-law recommended us to come and stay here - what a treat. We have had a lovely time walking and exploring and were so lucky with the glorious weather. Stunning views. We both sat at night at the window soaking in the glorious scenery with a G&T, many thanks for the ice. Thank you Pete & Glyn for everything and we loved staying in your superb Loft. We would love to come back sometime. "
James & Val from Boat of Garten (16th October 2013)

"Anywhere else in the world and you'd pay an arm and a leg for the views from the balcony at the Boatyard, absolutely breathtaking! Found this to be a great place to stay and run by a most friendly and welcoming couple. Can't see it ever being beaten for value for money, location and hospitality.

Superb is the only word that fits! Superbly managed, loved the 'Hands Off' style. Superb location, goes without saying. And just superb accommodation! Honestly what more could you ask for? Excellent!"
John from Dunfermline (12th September 2013)

"Great stay, love the location. Thanks for the hospitality! Hope to come again."
David & Anne from Switzerland (30th August 2013)

"This has been an ideal base for our "assault" of Liathach & Beinn Eighe. The view to wake up to is second to none. The room and facilities are great. Will definitely recommend to friends and be back again ourselves."
Fiona & Richard (23rd August 2013)

"Thank you for allowing us to stay in The Loft. We have had a wonderful time and the thought of returning home does not appeal! The views across the Loch are spectacular regardless of the weather and we've had both; grey, dull, overcast and a glorious, cloudless morning. Two days is never enough time in this timeless part of the world! Hope to return next year! Many thanks."
Katie & Scott from Fife (22nd August 2013)

"Thank you for a lovely stay. The Loft is beautifully designed and finished and very comfortable. It's a great set up with a lovely location for walkers. We had two very good meals out in the Shieldaig Inn and the Torridon Inn. Thanks to Glyn and Pete for being so welcoming and showing us your beautiful home."
Allan & Linda (18th August 2013)

"We have had such a wonderful time here - and we love your accommodation. You have thought of everything and we appreciated all the little 'extras' like the organic yoghurt, home-made cakes and plenty of fruit. The setting and view is so beautiful, in all weathers - in typical Scottish style, we have seen it in all weathers, driving rain & wind and right now, brilliant sunshine. Great climb up Liathach, swim in the loch, good food at the Torridon Inn. A real treat for us to have some time away just the two of us. We'll be recommending The Loft to our friends - will be back ourselves. Many thanks."
Caroline & Andrew, Scottish living in Vaud, Switzerland (2nd August 2013)

"Amazing accommodation!... easily goes to the top of my list for B&B places to stay! And waking up to those amazing views just puts the cherry on the cake! I can highly recommend the evening boat trip around the loch, from Shieldaig (www.torridonseatours.com). 1 night has not been enough, so I'll be back! Thank you."
Matt from Forres (13th July 2013)

"A cut above other B and Bs in this area, The Loft is very good value and extremely comfortable. The hosts, Glyn and Peter gave us a very warm welcome, and we were delighted with the accommodation. This included all you would want for a healthy breakfast and more. The room is just the right size for two people, and to wake up and see the wonderful view of the loch and mountains was such a joy. Whilst you are in the area, the Community Centre in Torrridon is well worth a visit, which Glyn has clearly put a lot of love and effort into by helping to set it up. We will definitely be staying at the Loft again. Absolute bliss!"
Judy & Dave from Auchterarder (9th & 10th July 2013)

"We came to race the 'Celtman', so our stay was very busy and we ended up rather tired. Knowing that we were coming back to such a comfortable and relaxing place was lifting our spirit. Thank you for your hospitality and generosity. Merci pour tout, notre séjour ne pouvait pas ètre plus parfait."
Francois Xavier & Maryse (7th July 2013)

"So glad we met you at Loch Torridon Community Centre Glyn. This is a stunning place to stay and very comfortable. Many thanks for all your help to make this a memorable time."
